COMRADES AND INTERFLORA
For more than two decades, Interflora has proudly provided flowers to the Comrades.
As they cross the finish line of South Africa’s most iconic ultra marathon, the top ten male and female Comrades finishers receive an Interflora Red Rose to carry with pride into the stadium.
Following them, the next 2,000 triumphant runners are greeted with yellow roses as they complete the race.
WINGED MESSENGERS
The logo on the Comrades marathon medal depicts the Greek God Hermes. Hermes was the God of the roads and was known as the ‘winged messenger’ of the Greek Gods.
Interflora’s logo is the Mercury man with winged feet. The Roman messenger of the Gods; Mercury represents truth, reliability and eloquence.
Sending Flowers for Comrades
Whether it’s to wish your runner “good luck” before the Comrades Race or to send them “Congrats” on finishing the ultra marathon, it’s always appreciated when you say it with flowers.
